The international field station Mukhrino of Yugra State University is hosting the scientists from France who came to participate in the field symposium “The influence of vegetation cover on the content of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in wetland ecosystems” and “Coenosis of viruses and microorganisms of sphagniopratums of the Western Siberia, Mukhrino field station case study”.
The scientists from Université d’Orléans, Université de Rennes and the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) of France will spend several weeks at the field station together with the scientisis of Yugra State University. They are planning to collect measurements of the level of ground waters and atmospherical temperature to compare them with the data of the last year’s research and make conclusions about the climate change in West Siberia.
The guests had a meeting with our rector, Tatiana Karminskaya, on 1 July. The rector expressed her intention to develop the cooperation with the French scientists and universities, which would include student exchange and Master’s programmes. The representative of CNRS also expressed intention to cooperate, in particular, the Centre is planning to provide Mukhrino station with equipment for climate change monitoring which would make it part of the consortium with the partners from France, Poland, Sweden and Scotland.
